FAQs
What’s the catch?
There isn’t one. We take nothing from your order and nothing from the supplier. You pay a subscription and we do the legwork: finding suppliers, sending to yours, reading every reply and working out the best answer.
Will my supplier know I’m shopping around?
Your call. Send it with your company name on it, or send it anonymously. Naming yourself with a supplier you already deal with often gets you better terms, so it is worth doing on purpose rather than by accident.
What if nobody replies?
You see who was matched and who has not answered, live. If a request gets nothing back we pick it up and chase it ourselves. Tell us too and we will get on it faster.
Do suppliers pay a cut of my order?
No. Quotes come straight from the supplier at their price. Quote Stack runs on the subscription, not commission.
How do suppliers get my request?
We contact them for you, based on what they stock and where they deliver. No account needed their end. We handle every message in both directions, at every stage.
Can I buy through Quote Stack?
Not directly. We run it from quotation to purchase order. Once the PO is sent, invoicing and payment terms are agreed and made clear to you. Every quote, PO and invoice is kept on the job, so you can track it through to delivery. Direct purchase may come later.
Which areas do you cover?
We are starting in England and expanding across the UK as supplier coverage grows. If you want us in your area, tell us and we will push to get there.
How many suppliers will quote?
As many as you want us to contact. Every matched supplier who stocks the materials and covers your postcode, plus any of your own you add. There is no cap per job.
Why we built it
— Ben, co-founder and working contractorI still run jobs. Every one starts the same way — quotes out to two or three merchants, chasing the ones that go quiet, then digging back through old messages to check if last month’s price still holds.
So we built the platform I actually needed. One request, every price back, kept on the job so I’m not the one keeping track of it. That’s time back for the part of the job that actually needs me.
